Our Team

Chris O’Brien

President, Telescript International

Chris has been involved in teleprompting since 1984. In his early years, Chris was a full-time operator for VIP Prompting, the company his father Jack started in March of 1966. Chris served a wide range of clients from Fortune 500 companies to major television broadcast networks and everything in between. Today, Chris is also co-owner of VIP Prompting, carrying on the family business. In 2013, Chris along with his brother and partner James O’Brien purchased Telescript.

Theresa O’Brien

Sales and Customer Liaison

Theresa has been involved with Telescript since the takeover in 2013 and is an integral part of the success of the company. While Theresa’s background lies in the legal world, her skills in customer relations and office management are invaluable to the company. Her organizational skills are second to none and she handles everything from trade show coordination to accounting to sales and office management. Theresa is the backbone of Telescript.

Bob Helder

Master Machinist

Bob has been Telescript’s machinist since 1978 and is responsible for many of the innovative hardware designs Telescript still sells today. His Vidy Award-winning design for Telescript’s Fold & Go Prompting System remains unchanged to this day and is one of the most widely used remote prompting systems on the market. Bob handcrafts many of the parts used in Telescript systems in our machine shop in Tappan, NY using manual machines, a rarity these days in manufacturing.

Jim Murphy

Product Specialist and Development

Jim has been involved in the broadcasting industry since 1994. Starting out working on film and TV sets, he eventually settled into a teleprompter operator position in 1999 with VIP Prompting in NYC. After working on thousands of prompting jobs including live broadcasts, game shows, and live events, Jim was asked to step in and help build Telescript back to its former glory. Since then Jim has been involved with product development, including developing Telescript’s line of NDI monitors, software support, product repair, and website development.

James O’Brien

Vice President, Telescript International

James is President and Co-owner of VIP Prompting and has been with VIP since 1981 where he did live local and nationwide news while still in high school and has numerous Emmy Awards for teleprompting. James’ primary focus is the service side of the industry and travels the world with Telescript equipment working with U.S. and foreign presidents and dignitaries. James has worked on many live events and is also Vice President and Co-owner of Telescript with his brother and business partner, Chris.

Chris Stringer
